The Board have revised and released the Multi Agency Good Practice Guidance for Recognising and Responding to Cases of Child Neglect which is available on the website Multi Agency Good Practice Guidance for Recognising and Responding to Cases of Child Neglect . The policy outlines the importance of interagency work to assist with early intervention and the need for timely identification of neglect and information sharing. The policy also references the multiple differences in types of neglect, recognising the signs and the assessments and enforces the knowledge that neglect is the most common reason children are taken into care.
Practitioners will be able to explore the dedicated toolkit and the links to the forthcoming Graded Care Profile tool soon to be launched. The Board is encouraging everyone to familiarise yourself with the new policy and share with your colleagues.
