Participants must have undertaken Level 1 Child Protection training before attending this course.
Open to new members of the workforce who work predominantly with children, young people and/or their parents/carers and who could potentially contribute to assessing, planning, intervening and evaluating the needs of a child and parenting capacity where there are safeguarding concerns.
To understand the history of reviews and their links to the legislation. To consider the learning from national/ local reviews. To become familiar with the new CSPR processes and what this means for you! To apply learning to current caseload and future practice particularly in relation to analysis & decision making
Recognise signs and indicators of neglect. Recognise the impact issues for children and child development. Demonstrate an understanding of the significance of timescales for progress. Demonstrate an understanding of the types of strategies used to intervene in situations of emotional abuse and neglect which can promote positive change.
Designated Leads for your organisation and other practitioners who will be undertaking an Early Help assessment (this is mandatory for those partners who will be holders of an on-line Outcome Star license as the training is accredited)
