As part of our restorative approach to working “with” children and their families we have been thinking about how the use of language creates a meaning and can be powerful.
The Voice Project have been working with young people, carers and staff to think about how we communicate and engage and understand their wishes and feelings on the day to day language used. They are creating a dictionary of words that they would like us to consider.
As a launch of this work young people have created a video describing how they feel about being called a case. I’m sure this will be an opportunity for us all to consider our own use of language.
