Level 1 Training

Suitable for those in regular or infrequent contact with children, young people and/or their parents or carers.

Level 1 training needs to be undertaken within 3 months of starting work and repeated every 3 years.

Please ask your organisation what level safeguarding training to complete.

Please note that the SSCB have a statutory responsibility to evaluate multi-agency and inter-agency training, and as part of the Boards business plan may conduct audits to understand the quality and impact of the training you provide’.

The aim of the below courses is to promote a consistent approach across Staffordshire to build confidence in the Workforce.

E-learning – Level 1 Awareness: Safeguarding Children and Protecting them from abuse.

Face-to-face – SSCB Level 1 Core Slides. (Recommended unless you work alone)

• Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board offer Safeguarding Level 1 Core Slides to enable you to deliver this essential training to all your staff internally for £100. During the period of your license Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board will ensure the slides are updated with any changes to statutory regulations and legislative guidance and will automatically allocate you the most up to date version. The Core Slides are licensed to you between September 1, of the that year to August 31, of the following year and must be renewed every September to ensure you have access to these updates.
• Requirements – The Level 1 core slides must be delivered by a Designated Safeguarding Lead or professional who has received Level 2 SSCB training.
