Covid Winter Heating Support

Thank you to everyone who has made referrals to the covid winter heating support scheme. The scheme is helping eligible households to pay their heating bills and keep residents warm.

We wrote to you a few weeks ago letting you know that we decided to temporarily close the online application form to give our team the chance to contact the 1,100 residents who applied for help.

We are now opening up applications again in East Staffordshire, Stafford and South Staffordshire as we have not received many applications from these areas.

If you come across a resident who is struggling to pay their bills or has broken or no heating, the quickest way that you can help them is by making a referral on their behalf. We are dealing with professional referrals before self-referrals.

If the resident is not in an emergency situation, you can email them a link to the referral form which they can complete.

Just to remind you, we are able to support residents who:

  • Are struggling to pay their fuel bills
  • Have a broken heating system

We will be able to give residents:

  • Up to £200 worth of financial assistance to pay their heating bills
  • Emergency radiators and a winter warmth pack if their heating is broken.

We will also investigate whether a long-term central heating solution could to be installed at a heavily discounted rate.
