Annual Reports

Classroom kids with teacherWorking Together 2023, includes a statutory requirement for all Local Safeguarding Children Boards (LSCB), to publish an annual report on the effectiveness of child safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children in the local area.

This annual report provides a rigorous assessment of the performance and effectiveness of local services that have responsibilities to safeguard children.

The report does the following:

  • Provides evidence of progress and achievements.
  • Identifies areas of weakness, the causes of those weaknesses and the action being taken to address them as well as other proposals for action.
  • Demonstrates the extent to which the functions of the LSCB are being effectively discharged.
  • Includes an account of progress made in implementing actions from Child Safeguarding Practice Reviews (CSPR), Rapid Reviews and Learning Reviews.
