Safeguarding in specific settings

''Staffordshire's children are relying on you to keep them safe

Their safety is in your hands

No matter where you work in the directorate, you have the power to recognise and stop child neglect, cruelty and abuse.

Yes, our social work teams have the expertise to support children and young people who are at risk, but safeguarding is not just about social work.

If you come into contact with Staffordshire's children and young people, be it in a school, a children's centre, a youth centre, library or any other setting, you need to feel confident that you could recognise a child in need and know what to do to help them.
