What is Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board?
Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board (SSCB) is the key statutory mechanism for agreeing how local organisations will co-operate to safeguard and promote the welfare of children and young people living in Staffordshire.
It is an inter-agency forum for agreeing how the different services and professional groups should co-operate to safeguard children throughout Staffordshire (except Stoke-on-Trent) and, for making sure that arrangements work effectively to promote better outcomes for children.
Stoke-on-Trent is a unitary authority and has its own Local Safeguarding Children Board. Visit Stoke Safeguarding Children Board.

- Since 2014 the SSCB has completed 3 serious case reviews, one of which is now published (Child B). The learning from these reviews has been pulled together in the form of a poster which aims to embed good practice and continuously improve front line practice. Please share this with all staff and include on internal training events.
- From the 30th May 2017 our new First Response IVR system goes live and calls will be re-directed corresponding to the options chosen by the caller and specifically to colleagues in the Corporate Contact Centre
