SSCB Priorities 2015-2018
The following SSCB strategic priorities for 2015-2018 have been agreed by the Board and will be actively driven forward over the next 3 years through the activity set out in the respective LSCB Business plans (see below). They are aimed at promoting a shared understanding of national legislation and best practice to promote coordinated and cohesive approaches to strategic and operation service delivery in respect of
- Children who are vulnerable to sexual abuse;
- Children who are experiencing neglect as a result of parental substance misuse, domestic abuse and parental mental ill health (when all 3 exist together this is known as the toxic trio and are viewed as indicators of increased harm to children)
In addition, the Staffordshire Safeguarding Children Board and Stoke-on-Trent Safeguarding Children Board are supporting the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Adult Safeguarding Partnership Board (SSASPB) who are looking at transition arrangements for those vulnerable children reaching 18 and who therefore move from children to adult services.
