The ESCape Project - Saltmine Theatre Company
In early 2008, the Saltmine Trust worked in partnership with Dudley Borough Council to create Escape. With the Internet an ever-present, ever-growing force in today's society, the dangers of internet bullying and paedophilia are of huge concern for young people.

Saltmine was commissioned by the Council to creatively tackle the pressing issue of Internet safety for young people. Playwright and director Richard Hasnip created
Escape that uses the metaphor of a forest to signify the internet and a 'fairytale' themed story.
Escape toured from April-July 2008 to 80 schools throughout the Dudley borough. It was found to be very timely, effectively addressing an urgent need in our society. The following quotes are from feedback forms from teachers and head teachers from the
Dudley borough tour:
"Escape was professional and entertaining-conveying a very important and necessary message"
"A thought-provoking performance- children and staff enjoyed the workshop which brought together all key ideas"
"It helped the children to see a difficult topic in an interesting, memorable way. This has been a very useful educational experience"
"I am convinced that the message presented today will have a lasting impact"
Feedback from Staffordshire School
"it was excellent, especially the workshop which followed the performance - the discussions were really valuable and explored the issues."
" It was well worth having"
