The Staffordshire Youth Offending Service
The Staffordshire Youth Offending Service (SYOS) works with Young People aged 10-17 years across the County, who have offended or are at risk of offending. It is one of 157 teams across England and Wales. The Service is made up of multi-agency staff with 3 area teams across Staffordshire (North, South West and South East) and a central Head Office based in Stafford. The multi-agency workers include Children & Lifelong Learning, Police, Probation Service, ADSIS (Alcohol & Drugs Services in Staffordshire), Health Service and Connexions. There is also a Prevention Team working as part of SYOS across the county and the Intensive Fostering Programme (IFP). IFP is an alternative to receiving a custodial sentence. It involves young people living with specially trained and supported foster carers for a period of up to twelve months as part of their Supervision Order.
