Connexions Staffordshire

Connexions Staffordshire is centred on young people aged 13-19 (and up to 25 for those with learning difficulties or disabilities) and as such, safeguarding and the welfare of young people is a primary concern. Our workforce includes professionally qualified personal advisers and assistant personal advisers working under supervision. All staff recruited to work with young people are rigorously vetted and receive regular training in safeguarding, child protection and risk assessment.

Connexions Staffordshire is commissioned by Staffordshire County Council to identify, keep in touch with and give the necessary support to young people in the eight districts of Staffordshire.  We work in all educational and training settings in the community and through Connexions Centres located throughout the County.

Young people can access information, advice, guidance, counselling, personal development opportunities, referral to specialist services and advocacy to enable them to access opportunities for learning, training and employment and the financial benefits that may be available to them.  The needs of young people from vulnerable groups such as teenage mothers, those who are been looked after and care leavers, young people supervised by the Youth Offending Service, young people with learning difficulties and/or disabilities and those young people who are not positively engaged, are a particular priority.
